Job4U2 customers are not only international companies established in Switzerland which have a global mobility strategy and aim to promote their high potential abroad but also Swiss or Swiss-based companies that are looking for employees with international profiles and specific skills.
The costs of recruitment and expatriation are very high. Unfortunately, a large number of expatriations are terminated during the course of the assignment. 50% of these interruptions are related to the dissatisfaction of the spouse with the overall expatriation experience.
With the job4U2 Dual-Career support programs, we increase the chance of a smooth and fast integration of the expatriate spouse into the new home environment.
With Job4U2 Talents, we also help recruiters by introducing them to professionals from our network, qualified and experienced men and women, with whom we have personal, long-term relationships.
Most companies are not organized to support the spouse’s job search even when they accept dual-career couples within the company. Most of the companies in Switzerland are concerned with the topic of dual-career couples and the issues related to global mobility. However, they do not have the time or the resources to support the spouse in an efficient and effective manner.
The service we offer, entirely dedicated to spouses, started in 2010. All the consultants have many years of experience in supporting professional projects in the region.
The job4U2 consultants have wide-ranging experience of the local employment market, managing dual careers, the challenges of parenting and relocation (both from and to Switzerland). All our in-house as well as external consultants have been trained in executing the 4U2 programs.
In addition to the core team, regular partners with additional specializations and languages accompany expat partners with specific career paths or language requirements.
We strongly identify with our company values and are proud of receiving great feed-back from the spouses and partners about how our service matches these values:
Efficiency- Commitment- Responsibility- Empathy- Respect- Quality
Most of the spouses we support speak English as 1st or 2nd language; some spouses speak perfect French and German.
Besides these three languages we can also work with Italian, Spanish and Dutch-speaking spouses, thanks to our professional team of consultants,
In case a spouse does not speak any of the 3 languages, French, German or English, some limited career possibilities are available in Switzerland. In these circumstances, we would guide them towards alternative solutions, such as creating an e-business for their community, copy writing/editing, language courses, etc.
Many relocating partners decide to take some time off to settle the family in the new location first. Therefore, we recommend a solution where non-working spouses can request Dual career support at a later stage in the expatriation process.
If the spouse prefers to look for other activities, we propose the “4U2 WELCOME & ADJUSTEMENT” program which has the objective that by the end of the module, the spouse has started the adjustment process of living in Switzerland, has made social connections and can conceive of a positive future and exiting opportunities in the new home country.
We support them to realize their professional project: Once their goal is identified, we provide them with the necessary support to be successful in the job search:
- Preparation of a Swiss application file (incl. CV, recommendation letter, certificate de travail, diploma equivalence)
- Coaching in personal branding and marketing
- Selection of target companies, setting up the related network
- Interview preparation
Depending on the maturity of the idea, we are able to adapt our approach.
If it’s a general idea “I want to start my own business” but ”I do not yet know what”, we aim to take the spouse thought talent assessments and project identification exercises.
At the next stage, we provide support for creating a business plan and for all the related administrative activities. We facilitate access to a network that will help them to get started.
